Sando Battalion

Foundation 22bby

Despite all they had seen of battle, the clones under Asha’s command were still young in many ways, knowing little of the galaxy beyond Kamino, Geonosis and Muunilist. So, Asha would tell them tales of his childhood home, describing in detail Naboo’s beauty and majesty to them. He told them so much about Naboo and it held a powerful grip on their imaginations. So much so indeed that the Clones adopted it as their home. Having never had childhoods of their own, they lived in Asha’s stories of his own.

At a time when many clone units were adopting unit names and characters, they thought of a particularly striking story of Asha’s.

Once, as a child visiting the indescribably beautiful lake regions, Asha saw the immense body of a Sando Aqua monster washed up on the shore. Such a sighting was beyond living memory of the Naboo, although the Gungans saw them in their occasional forays to the planets core. The sight attracted visitors from all across Naboo, and the image of this huge creature, once the ruler of a hidden and unknown world, now still and lifeless, stayed strongly in their imagination.

So powerful was the image, that even in the retelling it stuck in the minds of the Clones. What more feared and powerful creature could there be than the Sando?

Thus Sando battalion was born
